Flu Vaccine Update
►It’s time to think about getting a flu vaccine! We have plenty of flu vaccine available, and along with the American Academy of Pediatrics we recommend that all children over the age of 6 months receive this vaccine.
►This year the CDC continues to recommended against giving the FLUMIST vaccine. Reports from the last 3 years showed inadequate protection from this vaccine. They are working to figure out why, but in the mean time, are recommending only the shot versions of the vaccine be given. You can go to the CDC website for more information. http://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2016/s0622-laiv-flu.html
►Remember peak flu season is typically January and February, so there will be plenty of time for everyone to get protected!
►Flu shots are given by appointment only so call to schedule your flu shot today! If you have any questions about the flu vaccines please call during office hours and ask to speak with one of our registered nurses.
►Flu shot appointments are available on Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays from 9-11am, and 2-4pm, and on Saturdays from 9-11am.
